Leave a Nest Capital invests in Nomatech Sdn. Bhd., a Venture from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) Specialized in Agricultural Research

Leave a Nest Group has invested  through Leave a Nest Capital Co., Ltd. in Nomatech Sdn. Bhd. (Head office: Bangi, Selangor, Malaysia; President and CEO: Prof. Dr. Wickneswari Ratnam) a venture Company founded at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM).

Nomatech Sdn. Bhd. is engaged in the business of agricultural research and its end products, currently being high quality and high yielding Red and White Rices, with the mission of becoming “the most advanced R&D Innovation based agriculture Company that produces elite and superior planting materials for farmers, agro-entrepreneurs and home gardeners that fulfill the consumer’s needs”.

Leave a Nest Group had invested in the Company through Glocalink Singapore Pte. Ltd. in 2020, but has decided to make an additional investment through Leave a Nest Capital because of its shared vision with Nomatech Sdn. Bhd., with a commitment to innovative and continuous R&D to produce marketable elite and superior planting materials.

This vision is exemplified by the Company’s Primera Red Rice, a special type of grain that gets its red color from its rich content of anthocyanins and delivers an antioxidant punch almost ten times stronger than brown rice. It is, furthermore, a variety of rice that not only can increase paddy yield and farmers’ income but also has a low glycemic index suitable for the growing number of diabetics in Malaysia and around the world. The Malaysian government has also adopted policies to promote domestic rice production, and Nomatech aims to expand its business and research activities in Peninsular Malaysia, focusing on expanding the planted area and optimizing production costs.

Leave a Nest Group believes that Nomatech’s efforts will have a meaningful impact on society, and with this investment Leave a Nest Group aims to accelerate Nomatech’s business activities with a focus on Japan and Southeast Asia.
